Seoul Semiconductor Corporation (CEO: Chung Hoon LEE), a global market-leader in Light-Emitting Diode (LED) technology, and Singapore-based Vertex Venture Management have recently agreed to jointly seek and invest in companies with advanced capabilities in the areas of LED technology development.
Within the framework of the deal, Seoul Semiconductor will seek out companies and combine them with the capabilities of Vertex in sourcing and administering investment capital to achieve synergies for effective investment and returns.
With subsequent expansion of investment opportunities, the firms could establish a fund focused on supporting companies in their R&D efforts to drive future innovation in the LED and its related industries.
Vertex Venture Management is a venture capital firm that is a subsidiary of Vertex Venture Holdings, which is wholly owned by Temasek Holdings.
