OnGreen, a Los Angeles, CA-based online social media platform designed to help green start-ups raise capital and connect with investors and other industry professionals, has secured $1.4m in Series A financing.
The investment was made by China Southern Hong Kong Investment Ltd. (CSHKI) via its venture fund, Blue Marble Ventures. Based in Shanghai, CSHKI focuses on early- to mid-stage CleanTech investment opportunities.
OnGreen intends to use the funds to develop and add new tools to its platform. According to the company, since the service launched in July, nearly 300 entrepreneurs from over 35 countries have posted their business plans, looking for feedback and funding.
It also provides angel investors and venture capitals with tools to evaluate opportunities outside the normal channels of Clean Tech investment.
