Heartland Robotics Raises $20M in Series B Financing

Heartland Robotics, Inc., a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based developer of intelligent robots designed to increase productivity and efficiency in manufacturing environments, has raised $20m in Series B financing.
The round was led by Highland Capital Partners, with participation from new investor Sigma Partners and existing investors, Charles River Ventures and Bezos Expeditions, the personal investment company of Jeff Bezos.
In conjunction with the financing, Paul Maeder, co-founder of Highland Capital Partners, will join the company’s board of directors.
As stated by Scott Eckert, President and CEO of Heartland Robotics, the investment will help Heartland finalize development and start commercializing its robots.
The company was founded in 2008 by iRobot co-Founder and former Director of MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Rodney Brooks.
