Good Men Media, Inc., a Belmont, MA-based cross-platform media company that develops and distributes men’s related publications, has received $500,000 in funding.
Investors include private angel investors the founder of the project Tom Matlack, Grant Gund, Jack Roberts, Mike Jackson, Michael Margolis, and other undisclosed investors.
Good Men Media intends to use the funds to expand the distribution of The Good Men Project Magazine and other media channels.
Launched in March of 2010 by Lisa Hickey, who helped build the social media platform and brand, the company publishes The Good Men Project Magazine, an online publication launched on June 1, 2010. The company has in development books, films, technological applications, and a theatrical production – all centered around men’s issues.
The Good Men Project started in 2009 as a book and a “national discussion around what it means to be a good man” by Mr. Matlack. The executive team of the company includes New York Times Magazine writer and book author Benoit Denizet-Lewis.
