Scopis GmbH, a Berlin, Germany-based developer and market of 3D measuring systems for various medical fields of application involving minimally invasive surgery, has received a start-up financing from High-Tech Gründerfonds.
Established in July 2010 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the company is currently developing endoscopic measuring systems that can be locked onto all conventional endoscopes and enable precise 3D readings of anatomic structures in the body.
The initial support for setting up the business was provided by Fraunhofer Venture. High-Tech Gründerfonds is now providing the capital to complete and launch – within the second quarter of 2011 – its first products.
