Jeeran, a Jordan-based company that is developing a web community platform, has received an investment of undisclosed amount from Intel Capital, Intel Corporation’s global investment organization.
Jeeran aims to introduce an innovative approach in the social networking industry by providing Arab users with the tools and creative means to communicate and interact (self-created videos, photos, blogs).
The company will use the funds to deploy city portals in each of the major Arab cities across the Middle East.
The funding comes from the US$50m Intel Capital Middle East and Turkey Fund, which invests in companies developing innovative hardware, software, local content, and services throughout the area.
