Wave Break Media Receives €350K Investment

Wave Break Media Ltd, a Cork, EIRE-based producer of broadcast quality High Definition (HD) royalty free film footage and animation, has received a €350k investment.
The round was led by the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund, which committed €250k, with participation from Enterprise Ireland, which committed the remainder.
Wavebreak, which serves a global customer base, will use the capital infusion to further strengthen its core offering and continue to expand globally.

Commenting on the announcement, Orla Rimmington, Operations Director at Kernel Capital, the manager of the fund, said: “This investment will enable Wavebreak to further capitalise on this traction and will serve as a springboard to the next levels of sales, marketing and employment”.
Founded in 2006, the company boasts a catalogue of over 13,000 highest quality HD stock videos and 25,000 animations/photographs. Wavebreak’s stock media, which can be instantly downloaded via the internet, is sold through a global distribution network that includes some of the industry’s largest distributors such as Getty Images and Corbis Motion. Clients include FoxSports, Channel 4, MTV and the ITN group.
