VSS Monitoring, Inc., a Burlingame, Calif.-based provider of distributed traffic capture systems for network and security monitoring, has secured its first institutional round of financing from Battery Ventures.This capital infusion will allow the company to accelerate R&D initiatives, grow customer and partner support, and expand sales and marketing capacity.
In conjunction with the funding, Neeraj Agrawal, Battery Ventures General Partner, and Alex Benik, Battery Ventures Principal, will join VSS Monitoring’s board.Through a distributed architecture and advanced technologies, VSS Monitoring’s Distributed Traffic Capture SystemsTM provide an intelligent platform for centralized monitoring, tool optimization, and scalability for the network monitoring and security infrastructure.
Customers include over 1,000 enterprises, government agencies and service providers around the world.
Commenting on the funding, Martin Breslin, VSS Monitoring founder and CEO, was quoted as saying: “Partnering with Battery will help VSS continue to develop and deliver highly innovative solutions.
“Battery’s already proven success in the networking sector made the firm a natural fit and we believe their domain expertise will be invaluable to us”, he added.
