ViewRay Raises $20M in Series C Financing

ViewRay, Inc., a Cleveland, Ohio-based medical device company developing advanced radiation therapy technology for the treatment of cancer, has secured $20m in Series C financing.
The round was led by new investor Siemens Venture Capital, with participation from existing investors Aisling Capital, Fidelity Biosciences, Kearny Venture Partners and OrbiMed Advisors.
The funding is intended to advance the ViewRay system, an image-guided radiation therapy system, through the process of commercialization and placement in major medical centers.
The ViewRay system, which is currently for nonclinical research use only, is designed to improve the accuracy of cancer treatments through a combination of simultaneous magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and radiotherapy delivery.
