Urban Intern Completes Angel Financing Round

Urban Intern, a New York-based company that operates an online marketplace that connects companies with people seeking part time jobs, internships and freelance positions, has completed its round of angel financing.
As also stated by Cari Sommer, who co-founded the company alongside Lauren Porat, Urban Interns will use the new capital to enhance its website, launch new marketing programs and expand to new geographic markets.
The company has also announced that it has created an advisory board of internet executives with broad-ranging skills and expertise, including:
– Shana Fisher, SVP of Finance & M&A at IAC, who will advise on business strategy.
– Emily Hickey, CMO at Hashable and formerly a founding member of HotJobs, who will provide category-specific insights and marketing expertise.
– Marc Ferrentino, Chief Architect at a global cloud computing company, who will advise the company on technology and infrastructure issues.
