Teleplace Completes New Financing Round

Teleplace, Inc., a Redwood City, CA-based provider of enterprise-class application collaboration solutions to help large-scale commercial and government organizations manage data-intensive projects and operations across multiple locations, has completed a new financing round of undisclosed amount.
The funding will help the company develop its solution, which is currently used by leading firms in the financial services, manufacturing, energy, technology, higher education, healthcare and government sectors.
In order to accelerate the development of its learning and collaboration solutions, Teleplace has appointed Anthony Nemelka as President and CEO. Concurrently, Greg Nuyens, co-founder of the company, has been named chairman of the board of directors, and will continue to work with the executive team on the company’s strategy and growth plans.
Mr. Nemelka is an industry veteran in social business collaboration solutions, with a 25-year career, which includes executive management positions at IBM, Peoplesoft, Adobe and Socialtext.
He is the co-founder and former CEO of Helpstream.
Commenting on his new role, Mr. Nemelka said: “Teleplace has created impressive and proven immersive technology that has been successfully deployed in highly secure, large-scale enterprise-class environments. 
“My focus is to further enhance our technology platform and build out scalable, robust and highly collaborative solutions that can be easily integrated with existing systems”, he added.
Teleplace’s platform, which is based on its vPresence™ technology – integrating VoIP, chat, webcam video, presence, and multi-application sharing – has the target to create an environment where employees can execute tasks together and in a flexible way, and where organizations can tackle tough productivity issues, including distributed teams, increased operational complexity, global sourcing, reduced travel, and constrained budgets.
