2080 Media, Inc., an Atlanta, GA-based digital media company that operates as PlayON! Sports and specializes in the production, distribution, and monetization of video content in the high school category sports, completed a $2.8m Series B round of financing.New investor Hamilton Ventures joined the round with existing investors Buckhead Investment Partners (BIP Opportunities Fund, LP) and Imlay Investments.
The company will use the funding to support its growth and leadership position in the high school sports category.
In conjunction with the round, PlayON! will add Jamie Hamilton of Hamilton Ventures to its board of directors.
In December 2008, 2080 Media used the proceeds from its Series A funding to acquire the assets of PlayON!. It currently provides the tools necessary to produce high-quality video coverage of live events that don’t get TV exposure. The complete offerings include web-based event management services, production equipment, production management software, and custom advertising solutions.
