SeatGeek.com Raises $1M in Series A Financing

SeatGeek.com, a New York City-based web site that forecasts how sports and concert ticket prices move on the secondary ticket market, has raised $1m in Series A financing.
Investors include early stage venture capital firms Founder Collective and NYC Seed, which join existing shareholders Stage One Capital, Trisiras Group, PKS Capital and angel investors Arie Abecassis, Sunil Hirani, Thomas Lehrman, Allen Levinson and Mark Wachen.
The funding, which brings SeatGeek’s total investment to over $1.5m, will be used to build out the engineering and business development teams.
The company recently partnered with Nielsen Entertainment to bring its ticketing data and analytics to the record industry and announced the launch of MLB Fan Sentiment pages, which highlight SeatGeek’s data to show historical ticketing trends for each team and rank each team on fan popularity.
The site aggregates ticket listings for all four major sports – MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL – and concert events.
