Runa Capital Launches to Invest $30M in Russian Start Ups

Runa Capital, a $30m venture capital fund focused on providing seed capital to Russia-based early-stage Internet and software companies, has been officially launched.
The founders of the fund are Serguei Beloussov, chairman of Parallels who also serves on the board of directors of Acronis, and Alexander Galitsky, founder of Almaz Capital Partners.
Runa Capital’s venture partners include high-tech entrepreneurs and investors such as:
Andreas Gauger and Achim Weiss, co-founders of the hosting provider 1&1,
Ilya Zubarev, co-founder of Rolsen and Acronis,
Igor Borovikov, founder of the Russian software distributor Softline,
Charles Ryan, сhairman of UFG Asset Management,
Igor Daniloff, founder of “Doctor Web” antivirus company.
Runa Capital, whose activities will be supported by Runapark business incubator, will invest in companies operating in rapid-growth sectors including cloud computing, machine learning, virtualization, mobile and Internet applications.
