Swipely Completes $7.5M Series A Financing

Swipely, a Providence, Rhode Island-based online service that provides users with a platform to recommend purchase experiences and discover new places and products, has completed its $7.5m Series A financing.
The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from Greylock Partners, First Round Capital, and some angel investors
To date, the company has raised $8.5m in funding and other investors include Lowercase Capital, Keith Rabois, SV Angel, Anton Commissaris, Lee Hower, Charles Moldow and Emil Michael.

Swipely will use the capital to continue to grow the team and develop new tools for users to shop, share and save, and for businesses to attract, understand and reward customers.
In conjunction with the funding, Danny Rimer of Index Ventures will join the company’s board of directors, and Reid Hoffman of Greylock Partners will serve as an observer on the board.
