Gammadata Receives Majority Investment from InnovationsKapital

Gammadata Holding AB, an Uppsala, Sweden-based applied physics company, has received a SEK29.5m (approximately $3.7m) majority investment from a syndicate led by the venture capital firm InnovationsKapital.

The majority owners, CapMan and other shareholders, sold all the shares to a group of investors including the current management. The investors, led by InnovationsKapital, now own 70 %, and the management 30%.
Founded in 1986 by a group of physicists and research scientists from Uppsala University, Gammadata operates within three areas:
– Gammadata Instrument with agency sales in the nordic region of instruments from well-known brands.
– Gammadata Sauna Systems within nuclear phsyics with sales, manufacturing and development of instruments that detects nuclear explosions.
– VG Scienta with development, manufacturing and sales of instrument within High vacuum and surface physics. 
Commenting on the investment, Jan Edhäll, CEO at Gammadata, was quoted as saying: “We are very pleased to have InnKap 4 Partners as a new owner.
“We expect InnKap to support our promising plans, and to help us to take Gammadata forward”, he added.
