VM6 Software Secures $4M

VM6 Software, Inc., a Montreal, Canada-based provider of an IT virtualization infrastructure software, has closed a $4m series A round of investment with RBC Venture Partners and Ignition Partners.
The new capital will enable the company to further accelerate customer expansion, software development and marketing and sales efforts worldwide.
VM6 VMex software provides small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with an IT infrastructure solution that is designed to leverage the benefits of virtualization to manage, provision, consolidate and protect distributed servers and desktop environments at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.
In conjunction with the funding, Stephen Pollack has joined VM6 Software’s board of directors, along with Richard Fade from Ignition Partners and Jean-David Begin from RBC Venture Partners.
Mr. Pollack is a seasoned entrepreneur and industry expert with more than 25 years of experience in the high-technology market. In 2003, he founded PlateSpin Ltd., which was later purchased by Novell.
The company, which recently joined the Microsoft BizSpark One program, also announced the general availability of its VM6 VMex Enterprise Edition, which leverages Microsoft Hyper-V™ to combine virtualization with shared storage, advanced clustering, management and monitoring.
