Built upon the success of the Grameen Bank, the most widely recognized microfinance company in the world, which was founded in Bangladesh by Professor Muhammad Yunus (the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006), Grameen America’s mission is to alleviate poverty and spur entrepreneurship by providing small loans, savings programs, credit establishment, and financial education to people living below the poverty line in the United States.
