VinPerfect Raises Series A Funding

VinPerfect, Inc., a Davis, CA-based developer of a screwcap that keeps the wine clear of the contamination of corks and provides a controlled amount of oxygen over time for optimum aging, has raised “sufficient” capital to carry through prototyping and testing phases.
The company also appointed Jim Olson as Interim President of the company.
Olson is an investor in VinPerfect and will co-lead Series A fund-raising efforts. In addition, he will participate actively in the company’s leadership and business strategy.
Jim Olson will work alongside with Tim Keller, a UC Davis trained winemaker with over 12 years experience in the California wine industry.
He has served as a winemaker in the Stag’s Leap District of Napa and Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, among others.
In addition to leading the VinPerfect team, he serves as the winemaker for Alta Ridge Vineyards.
Tim invented the VinPerfect screwcap during his MBA studies at UC Davis in 2007.
