Solar Junction Raises $13.3M in Series C Financing Round

Solar Junction Corp., a San Jose, CA-based developer of high efficiency III-V multi-junction solar cells for the concentrated photovoltaic market, closed its $13.33m Series C funding round.
The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with participation from Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) and Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ).
The company will use the funds to improve high-efficiencies for multi-junction solar cells based on dilute nitride compounds and to move forward with customer sampling activities.
Last month, the U.S. Department of Energy and National Renewable Energy Lab announced that Solar Junction was a recipient of a $3m PV Incubator subcontract, which is currently under negotiations.
