XIHA Life, a multilingual and multicultural social network based in Sunnyvale, California, Switzerland and Finland, has received $1m in seed funding.
The round was led by Veraventure, with participation from international angel investors and the company founders.
As stated by Jani Penttinen, XIHA Life co-founder and CEO, the new capital infusion will enable the company to accelerate mobile platform enhancements and global outreach.
In conjunction with the funding, Jyri Engeström, former Google Product Manager and co-founder of Jaiku, will join Jan Achrenius and chairman Ville Miettinen on the company’s board.
XIHA Life aims to connect people worldwide through a real-time translation system. Users can create blogs and homepages or link to other social media to share their personal experiences.
