Eventbrite, a San Francisco, CA-based online events marketplace, has closed a Series C round of funding from Sequoia Capital.
This funding brings the total raised by the company to over $8m.
In conjunction with the deal, Roelof Botha, partner of Sequoia, will join Eventbrite as director.
The company, which was founded in 2006 by Kevin Kevin Hartz, CEO along with his wife Julia Hartz and Renaud Visage, supports businesses and organizations of all sizes manage, promote and sell-out their fairs, festivals, fundraising events, workshops, reunions, conferences or special holiday events.
Eventbrite’s customers to date have included TechCrunch, Craigslist Foundation, Kiva, PayPal, and LA Times.
