Private equity firm CapMan Plc, through the CapMan Life Science IV fund, in which it is a substantial investor, has acquired a majority stake in Sweden-based SRK Konsultation AB.
The funds from the transaction will be used to continue the company’s expansion across Sweden.
Founded in 2002, SRK recorded net sales of approximately €5m in 2008 and currently employs some 80 people. The company has a total of 10 units that provide young people and adults with complex behavioural problems with a range of help, care, and education aimed at enabling them to lead a more independent life. SRK operates treatment centers, family homes, group and assisted living units and daily activities, as well as a special education institution in the Uppsala area.
Commenting on the deal, CapMan Partner Per Sköld said: “The investment in SRK is a result of a careful process to find an investment target in this sector, and is in line with our strategy to invest in high-quality growth companies within Nordic healthcare. Thanks to its size and unique competence, SRK is well-positioned to seek future growth”.
The closing of the transaction is subject to certain customary conditions and is expected to be finalised by the end of November.
