London-Based BioCeramic Therapeutics Raises £1.2M

BioCeramic Therapeutics (BCT), a developer of bioactive materials for orthopaedic and dental application, has received £1.2m in a funding round led by Imperial Innovations (£300,000) and new investor Longbow Capital (£400,000).
Other investors include existing shareholders Comvest Limited and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
This investment follows funding of £1.04 million in 2007.

The proceeds will be used to commercialise its products in 2010.
London-based BioCeramic Therapeutics has also recently appointed Dr Stephan Rietiker, a recognised leader in the global medical health sector, as Chairman.
