The Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs is sponsoring www.TaiwanSME.com (or Taiwan SME), a website which shows the country’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by displaying their company information and product e-catalogs.
Administered by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the website presents information on award winners comapnies and covers a vast number of industries like machines & tools, IT products, chemical & medical supplies, toys, gifts & stationery, agricultural products, and textiles.
Taiwan’s industrial economy has always been based on SMEs and to raise global competitiveness, Taiwan’s SMEs have been committed to develop high-value-added products and services through innovating R&D, upgrading technology level, enhancing product design, and promoting digitalization of enterprises.
According to TAITRA, at the moment, the number of Taiwan’s SMEs amounts to 1,236,000, producing an export value of US $49.3bn and contributing to 17% of contry’s overall exports.
