Terra Firma invests in US energy project developer

The UK private equity group Terra Firma has agreed to invest $350m in Everpower, a New York based developer of wind farms that aims to supply electricity for 250,000 homes in five years.

EverPower was established in 2002 to identify or acquire early stage development opportunities in the Northeastern, Pacific Northwest, and Mid Atlantic Regions of the United States and in other select locations where the company has a strategic reason for pursuing project opportunities. EverPower is currently developing projects in seven states.

According to the Financial Times, the investment is enterely financed with equity from Terra Firma’s buy-out fund and no debt.
