Roofstock Raises $7M; Brings Series C Round to $42M

roofstockRoofstock, an Oakland, California-based online marketplace for buying, owning and selling single-family rental (SFR) homes, has raised an additional $7m in Series C funding.

This funding has upsized the round to $42m considering the $35m part announced in October 2017.

Backers included two new strategic investors SVB Capital and Asia Pacific Land Ltd.

The company will use the funds to continue to expand its dynamic marketplace to new audiences.

Led by Gregor Watson, co-founder and chairman, and Gary Beasley, co-founder and chief executive officer, Roofstock is an online marketplace for investing in single-family rental homes, with listings in 25 markets across the U.S. The company offers detailed home and tenant information, local vetted property management options, as well as analytics and general market insights to allow investors evaluate and purchase properties.

In addition to the funding, Roofstock announced it has surpassed $1 billion in property transactions since the launch of its marketplace in early 2016.

To date, the company has raised $75.25m from Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Canvas Ventures, QED Investors, Nyca Partners, FJ Labs and SVB Capital.
