How Women Invest LLC, a San Rafael, CA-based venture capital firm, held the first close of Fund I, at $5M.
Subscribed by female investors, of which over half of the female investors are women of color, Fund I provides capital, mentoring and a network of influential women leaders to support female startup founders, especially women of color. It will leverage a vast network of professional, collaborative and community-driven women leaders representing board directors, C-suite, and senior executives.
Fund I has a target of $10m for up to 249 limited partners.
It will be led by Julie Castro Abrams, Managing Partner and founder of sister organization How Women Lead, and Erika Cramer, Managing Partner.
