OwnBackup Raises $50M in Funding

OwnBackup, an Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — based cloud-to-cloud business continuity platform, raised $50m in funding.

The round, which brings the company’s total funding to over $100, was led by Insight Partners, with participation from Salesforce Ventures and Vertex Ventures and existing backer Innovation Endeavors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and scale go-to-market functions.

Led by Sam Gutmann, CEO, OwnBackup is a cloud-to-cloud backup and restore vendor, which provides secure, automated, daily backups of SaaS and PaaS data, as well as data compare and restore tools for disaster recovery. The company, which covers data loss and corruption caused by human errors, malicious intent, integration errors and rogue applications, has R&D, support and other functions in Tel Aviv and London. OwnBackup currently supports over 2,000 customers—such as AECOM, athenahealth, Michigan State University, and Navy Federal Credit Union—securing 60 trillion SaaS and PaaS records and employs more than 220 people globally.
