Robinhood Raises $280M in Series F, at $8.3 Billion Valuation

Robinhood, a Menlo Park, California-based investing platform, raised $280m in Series F funding at an $8.3 billion valuation.

The round was led by existing investor Sequoia Capital, with participation from existing and new investors including NEA, Ribbit Capital, 9Yards Capital, and Unusual Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to scale the platform, build new products, and grow operations.

Co-founded in April 2013 by Vladimir Tenev and Baiju Bhatt, Robinhood offers a commission-free trading platform for stocks, ETFs options and cryptocurrencies.
