Blossom Capital, a London, UK-based venture capital firm, is launching an angel program called Cultivate.

Formed in partnership with unicorn execs, Cultivate connects 30 angel investors including Des Traynor (Intercom), Guillaume Pousaz (Checkout.com), Nilan Peiris (Transferwise) and Shakil Khan (Spotify) with new tech startups. These angels will mentor the founders alongside their financial investment. Additional angels are expected to join in the coming months.

The program – initially focused on startup founders who have previously worked at successful unicorns – will make up to 20 investments of $250k per startup in the next 12 months, a total of $5m.

Founders can apply via an online form or an introduction from one of the angels.

As the investments are non-exclusive, members are also welcome at any stage to invest personal capital alongside Cultivate’s investment, as well as introduce founders to funds.

Set up in 2017 by the former Index Ventures and LocalGlobe VC Ophelia Brown, Blossom Capital partners with early-stage, industry-defining founders across Europe in consumer and enterprise, particularly focusing on finance, design, marketplaces, travel, developer-focused tools, infrastructure and API-first companies.
