DataGuard, a Munich, Germany-based privacy and compliance software company, raised $20m in funding.

London, UK-based One Peak made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in its existing full-stack platform as well as adjacent product categories and scale its sales and marketing organization in Europe and the Americas.

Co-founded in November 2017 by Thomas Regier and Kivanc Semen, DataGuard provides a Privacy-as-a-Service solution that enables customers to become and remain compliant with privacy regulation such as GDPR. Via its proprietary software platform, DataGuard audits customers’ personal data flows, creates process documentation, processes and documents data breaches, third-party audits and data subject requests and trains customers’ workforces. It enables customers to make decisions around privacy compliance, providing them with the ability to modify their IT infrastructure and internal processes.

The company has over 100 employees and over more than 1,000 customers – ranging from small and mediumsized businesses (SMBs) to multinational enterprises across a broad range of industry verticals such as industrials, technology, professional services, healthcare, finance and government.
