Air Doctor Secures $7.8M in Series A Funding

Air Doctor, an Israeli marketplace of doctors made for tourists traveling abroad, raised of $7.8m in Series A funding.

Backers included Kamet Ventures and The Phoenix Insurance Company.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations, develop its R&D capabilities and expand across the insurance, telecom, and credit card industries.

Founded in 2016 and led by Jenny Cohen Derfler, CEO, Air Doctor provides a platform for travellers who get sick when abroad and need non-emergency advice or treatment to connect with local private physicians who can be accessed via travel insurance or perks. Before scheduling an appointment, they have the ability to see all of a doctor’s information including professional background, languages spoken, other patients’ reviews and more in a single app.

The platform, available across 42 countries in 5 continents, allows people to search physicians by location, language, specialty, and cost.
