Equal Ventures Launches First $56M Fund

NYC-based Equal Ventures has launched its first fund, Equal Ventures Fund I, a $56M seed-stage venture fund designed to bridge the digital divide.

LPs include endowments, foundations and fund-of-funds, as well as leading executives from the industries we focus on, as well as leading operators and investors from the technology world.

Co-founded by Rick Zullo and Richard Kerby, Equal Ventures is a seed stage venture firm that backs the founders and businesses that are disrupting legacy markets. In terms of stage, Equal focuses exclusively on seed. Its check sizes are sizable with respect to the fund size (generally ~$1.5m for first investment).

The portfolio includes: Pattern, Block, Gerry, Leap and Watchtower.
