Thistle Raises $5.65M in Series A Financing

Thistle, a San Francisco, CA-based plant-centric meal delivery company, raised $5.65M in Series A financing.

The round was led by PowerPlant Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, PPV Managing Partner, Dan Gluck will join Thistle’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to build out new production facility, accelerate marketing, and launch operations in new geographies and distribution channels.

Founded in 2013 by husband and wife team Ash Cheriyan and Shiri Avnery, Thistle is a food and beverage company focused on making and delivering fresh, plant-centric meals, including plant-centric meals, cold-pressed juices, and healthy snacks. The company has served over 5 million fresh plant-centric meals and other products made with real, whole, slow-metabolizing foods primarily from plant sources, including sustainably sourced vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains, healthy plant fats, and plenty of herbs & spices delivered to customers in California and beyond.
