RazorSecure Raises £2.6M in Funding

RazorSecure, a Basingstoke, England, UK-based provider of solutions protecting passenger transport systems from cyber risks, raised £2.6m in funding.

Backers included Mainport Innovation Fund II, Wentworth Limited, and Breed Reply.

The company intends to use the funds to more than double the size of the team and drive European and US expansion.

Founded by Alex Cowan in 2015, RazorSecure provides advanced cybersecurity software that secures critical transport systems from the risks of cybercrime. By using artificial intelligence, the company’s software detects how a system operates typically, and then identifies any deviation from it as a possible threat. Primary customers are in the rail and aviation sectors with RazorSecure having ambitions to serve a broader market. This includes the automotive and shipping industries, both in the UK and across the Globe. to deliver its strategy.

Since it launched, the company has worked with transport operators and system suppliers such as Arriva, Icomera, Nomad Digital and VT Miltope to defend their brand reputation and operational continuity in their systems from cyber-attacks.

So far, RazorSecure has raised more than £4m.
