OpenPhone Raises $2M in Seed Funding

OpenPhone, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a modern phone for startups and small businesses, raised $2M in seed funding.

The round was led by Slow Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, Kindred Ventures, Garage Capital, 122WEST Ventures, Hack VC, and others.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, build capabilities for teams and individuals using OpenPhone, and grow the team

Led by Mahyar Raissi, co-founder and CEO, OpenPhone is building a phone system for small business owners to communicate effectively with their customers. In particular, OpenPhone adds a second phone number on top of existing devices (mobile/tablet/desktop) and features to give team members their own numbers, share a phone number, collaborate on conversations, and automate workflows by connecting OpenPhone to the rest of the company tools. In addition to the fundraising, the company is introducing Slack and email integrations, and making web app improvements.
