Gentem, a San Francisco, CA-based healthcare reimbursement company enabling doctors to run viable healthcare practices and remain independent, raised $3.7m in funding.

The round was led by Susa Ventures with participation from Village Global, Vulcan Capital, Hustle Fund, 500 Fintech, Social Starts, Great Oaks VC and others.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its engineering and operations teams.

Led by Fisayo Ositelu, MD, CEO and co-founder, Gentem leverages machine learning, automation and fintech technology to allow doctors to improve their reimbursement experience by handling the end-to-end billing and revenue cycle processes, and paying physicians upfront for their services. It is able to increase cash flow and reduce account receivable days, as well as uncover opportunities to increase revenue.
