eSSENTIAL Accessibility Raises $16M in Growth Funding

eSSENTIAL Accessibility, a Toronto, Canada-based provider of web accessibility-as-a-service, closed a $16m funding round.

The round was led by Lead Edge Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Nimay Mehta, Partner at Lead Edge Capital, will join eSSENTIAL Accessibility’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its software platform and pursue rapid geographic expansion.

Led by Simon Dermer, Co-Founder and CEO, and by Mark Steele, Co-Founder and President, eSSENTIAL Accessibility provides an Accessibility-as-a-Service platform, which allows organizations to deliver inclusive web, mobile, and product experiences in compliance with legal requirements to ensure that people with disability are not left behind. Hundreds of brands and organizations use the company’s cloud platform and team of diverse, certified accessibility professionals to maintain digital accessibility compliance and to enhance the customer experience.
