Samasource Raises $14.8M in Series A Funding

SamasourceSamasource, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of training data for AI technologies, closed a $14.8M Series A funding.

The round was led by Ridge Ventures, with participation from Social Impact Ventures, Bestseller Foundation, and Bluecrest Limited Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its engineering, sales and marketing efforts and expand its technology with more advanced features.

Led by Leila Janah, founder and CEO, Samasource provides a training data and validation provider focused on accelerating AI adoption, supporting AI development in Autonomous Transportation, Media and Entertainment, E-commerce, Retail, Smart Hardware, and Biotech.
Using a combination of its annotation platform and a skilled workforce, Samasource trains data for computer vision and NLP use cases and provides content services and data enrichment solutions.
With this investment, the company opened an AI Development Center in Montreal, Canada and a delivery center in Kampala, Uganda adding to its global presence in San Francisco, New York City, the Hague, Gulu, and Nairobi.
