Memfault Raises $2.5M in Funding

memfaultMemfault, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a monitoring solution for hardware devices, raised $2.5M in seed funding.

The round was led by Uncork Capital, with participation from S28 Capital and Y Combinator.

Led by François Baldassari, CEO, Memfault provides a cloud-based monitoring tool for hardware teams to catch, triage, and fix bugs in the field before they are discovered by end users. The solution acts as an early alert system and companies can use the software to roll out their firmware updates and get notified of issues before they impact the entire fleet.
The company’s SDK connects into low level diagnostics features available in all connected devices and streams that data back to their cloud where it is analyzed. Its backend identifies, classifies, and deduplicates error reports so engineers know what issues are most prevalent, and where the fault lies exactly, without needing to collect affected devices back from customers.
Early customers using the platform include hardware companies Logitech and Proxy.
