Kikoko Secures $8M in Series A Funding

kikokoKikoko, a Emeryville, Calif.-based cannabis botanical wellness company for women, closed an $8m round of Series A funding.

The round, which brings Kikoko’s total funding to $14m to date, was led by Bengal Capital, with participaiton from FlowKana, Kikoko’s distributor and supply chain partner.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to build its team, launch new wellness products, deepen retail relationships and build out its direct-to-consumer sales platform.

Established in 2015 by Jennifer Chapin and Amanda Jones, Kikoko provides cannabis-infused herbal teas, which are made with organically sun-grown cannabis, organic adaptogenic herbs, and pure New Zealand Manuka honey. They include:
– Tranquili-Tea for insomnia, Sympa-Tea for pain relief,
– Sensuali-Tea to enhance sex, and
– Positivi-Tea for mood elevation.
The company also offers HoneyShots, a line of cannabis-infused honey products made with Manuka honey.
An additional suite of new products is launching in Q4 2019 and Q1 2020.
