FirstVet Raises €18.5M in Series B Funding

firstvetFirstVet, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup which provides pet-owners with on-demand video consultations with local, qualified veterinarians, closed an €18.5M Series B funding.

The round, which brought total funding to-date to €24.5M, was led by Omers Ventures, with participation from Creandum.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its service globally, in markets such as the United States, Germany, and France, and to continue to develop its product and introduce new features to improve the experience for pet owners and vets alike, such as new automation tools and integration with clinics’ existing systems.

Founded in Stockholm in 2016 by David Prien, Per Victor, Joakim Widigs and Lars Martin Norviit, FirstVet provides pet owners with a mobile app service that offers video call consultations via qualified, registered veterinarians. With a presence in five markets (the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and its native Sweden), the company has 150 veterinarians and more than 200,000 registered users.
Through partnerships with over 20 major insurance companies across all markets, including with Bought By Many in the UK, the service is free-of-charge for pet owners.

The company employs a team of 35.
