HQS Quantum Simulations Raises €2.3M in Seed Funding

HQS Quantum SimulationsHQS Quantum Simulations, a Karlsruhe, Germany-based provider of solutions that predicts material properties using quantum computers, raised €2.3M in seed funding.

The round was led by UVC Partners, HTGF, and btov.

The company intends to use the funds to strengthen its quantum simulation team.

Founded in 2017 by Dr. Iris Schwenk, Dr. Sebastian Zanker, Dr. Jan Reiner and Dr. Michael Marthaler, HQS provides software for quantum computers to enable chemical and material science companies to run quantum chemical and advanced material simulations to use medium-term available NISQ processors and accelerate development cycles in the chemistry and pharma industries.
HQS has established collaborations with BASF, Bosch and Merck.
The company, a spin-off from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and provides was initially backed by angel investors Friedrich Hoepfner and Manfred Ziegler.
