Vedantu Raises $42M in Series C Funding

vedantuVedantu, an Indian online tutoring company, raised $42M in Series C funding.

The round was led by Tiger Global and WestBridge Capital, with participation from existing investors Accel, Omidyar India, TAL Education, Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein & CEO, LGT group and the founders of Vedantu.

The company intends to use the funds to scale operations, expand its learner base as well as increase investment into tech and content capabilities.

Led by Vamsi Krishna, CEO and Co-Founder, Vedantu is a live online tutoring platform focused for students from 6th to 12th grades, offering all major subjects (Maths, Science, Social, English) and school boards (CBSE, ICSE, IB). It offers individual and group classes delivered by teachers on a real-time, virtual learning environment. Students also access content, take assessments and get their learning report on the platform.

The company recently launched AI platform, called W.A.V.E, which allows students to interact with teachers, solve their doubts, participate in gamified quizzes.
