Medal.tv Secures €8.1M in Series A Funding

medal tvMedal.tv, a Dutch online gaming startup, raised €8.1M Series A funding.

The round was led by Horizons Ventures with participation from existing investors Backed VC, Social Starts, and Makers Fund. In conjunction with the funding, Jonathan Tam of Horizon Ventures will join Medal.tv’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to hire new people, and advance develop business operations.

Co-founded in 2015 by Josh Lipson, Iggy Harmsen, Zaid Elnasser and Patrick Rietbroek, Medal.tv provides a platform for sharing short-form gaming clips instantly. The platform currently supports clip sharing from over 280 games including popular titles such as Fortnite, Runescape, Roblox, Oldschool, Minecraft, Apex Legends, and more.
The company is constantly adding new games.
