Kenna Security Raises $48M in Series D Funding

kenna securityKenna Security, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of enterprise risk-based vulnerability management solutions, raised $48m in series D funding.

Backers included new investors Sorenson Capital and Citi Ventures and existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, U.S. Venture Partners, Costanoa Ventures, Hyde Park Angels, and OurCrowd. In conjunction with the funding, Ken Elefant, Managing Director of Sorenson Capital, will join Kenna Security’s board of directors.

The company, which brings Kenna’s total raised to $98m, intends to use the funds to continue to accelerate its international expansion and drive further innovation.

Led by Karim Toubba, CEO, Kenna Security provides a risk-based vulnerability management platform that enables organizations to work cross-functionally to determine and remediate cyber risks. The company leverages Cyber Risk Context Technology™ to track and predict real-world exploitations, focusing security teams on what matters most.
Kenna, which counts among its customers many Fortune 100 companies, and serves nearly every major vertical, integrated its vulnerability risk intelligence into VMware’s AppDefense (part of the VMware vSphere Platinum offering). AppDefense is a data center security product that protects applications running in virtualized environments.
