Acquia, a Boston, MA-based open digital experience company, is to receive a majority investment from Vista Equity Partners.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The partnership with Vista will provide operational expertise to help accelerate Acquia’s growth as the company continues to scale.
Several existing investors will retain a stake in the company. Acquia will continue to operate independently. The transaction is currently expected to close in the coming weeks and is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Led by Michael Sullivan, CEO, Acquia is an open digital experience company providing brands with technology to embrace innovation and create customer moments that matter. Its Open DXP Platform, built on an open source architecture is informed by a large independent developer community in Drupal, allowing Acquia to fuse disparate data and marketing technologies, automating digital experiences at scale.
The investment follows Acquia’s recent strategic acquisitions of Mautic and Cohesion, which have expanded its offerings to customers.
The company currently serves more than 30 companies in the Fortune 100.
