Zahnarzt-Helden, a Bielefeld, Germany-based online dental equipment company, raised a seed funding “in the millions”.
Backers included High-Tech Gründerfonds, the ‘Technologiefonds OWL’, managed by Enjoy Venture, and several business angels.
The company intends to use the funds to build the online platform and expaand its existing service technician network of more than 80 partners.
Founded in December 2017 by Carsten Janetzky, Philip Pieper and Martin Wertgen, Zahnarzt-Helden provides dentists with an online platform to buy large dental equipment such as dental units, X-ray equipment and intraoral scanners. In addition to classic financing options like leasing, the startup offers long-term renting which does not only work for dental equipment, but also for technical service, which is provided via a monthly fee.
To date, more than 3,000 dentists have used the services.
The company currently employs 20 people.
