Universidad Kuepa Raises US$1M in Funding

kuepaUniversidad Kuepa, a Mexican innovative online university, raised US$1m in funding.

The investment was made by Adobe Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Erik Wallsten of Adobe Capital, will be joining Kuepa’s Board of Directors along with Fernando Valenzuela Migoya, a senior education industry executive.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its existing offering of online bachelors and masters programs, as well as grow its student base in Mexico and the U.S. hispanics market.

Co-founded by CEO Gonzalo Pulit and Jorge Garcia, Kuepa offers online bachelor’s programs in popular fields, as well as an accelerated program for high school graduation. Using its platform and content, it is able to offer bachelors programs for under US$50 dollars a month to more than 6,000 students.
Adobe Capital joined existing investors Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Potencia Ventures and Zoma Capital.
